At the September meeting, Tom
Whittington from the Tampa Woodworking Club brought in his router and
the Woodline Spacer Fence System. The system ensures equal spacing of
"finger" or box joints using the router. The consistent spacing, in
turn, makes assembly of the boxes easier and stronger.

Tom explaining some of the issues in box-making.

Tom adjusts the router bit for the depth of the finger joint. |

For efficiency (and to make the joints even more consistent) the four
box sides are clamped together. |

After the first set of fingers are cut, the clamped pieces are flipped
to cut the other sides. |

Tom also brought along a map that the Tampa club uses to promote
fellowship among its members.
It shows the location of their homes, so, members can see who lives
nearby.
